Hotel pick-ups completed, you’ll head north towards Mossman Gorge. Your first stop is the Mossman Gorge Gateway Centre for morning tea. From there you’ll board a shuttle for the trip into the gorge itself. Your driver/guide will lead you on a short walk and share their expert knowledge of this verdant ecosystem.
The next highlight of the day is a one-hour cruise on the Daintree River. This is the habitat of many bird species, lizards and snakes, and of course, the infamous estuarine (saltwater) crocodile. Keep your eyes peeled for crocs sunning themselves on the muddy banks. They can be quite tricky to see!

Daniel took us on a fabulous tour to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. He is an amazing guide – very knowledgeable, humorous and provides so much information. He was helpful and made sure the whole day ran smoothly. The tour itself was great, even if crocodiles were missing in action. Morning tea at Mossman Gorge was fantastic and a beautiful place to visit. Lunch was a traditional bbq at Noah Creek – Jody did an amazing job with catering and the food was delicious. Cape Tribulation was beautiful and Daniel did a great job in showing us the dangers that lurked in the rainforest. The trip back to the Daintree was sustained by delicious ice cream from the Daintree icecream company. Bruce, our boat driver and guide, on the Daintree river cruise was extremely knowledgeable as well, with a dry sense of humour. Overall this day trip was brilliant and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Tour was excellently led by guide Daniel, who was extremely charismatic and knowledgeable, making for an awesome day. Pickup from hotel was very convenient and the bus was very comfortable. Daniel knew an incredible amount about the rainforest and coastal ecosystems, as well as the animals and the history of the area. Everything was very well organised and sites visited are absolutely stunning. Food provided was delicious 🙂 A truely immersive, Australian experience.
