Great experience all round. Very personalised tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide and driver. Magnificent short walk through the gardens up to Cascade Brewery. Quick but interesting visit to the female factory. A highlight was the stop and stroll around the Botannical Gardens. Lots to see and admire. We also picked up tips on Hobart’s rich history and other places to visit in the ensuing days. Thanks!

Fantastic fun! We must have got Hobart’s friendliest and funniest tour guide driver. His knowledge of old and new Hobart, architecture and attractions were second to none. Plus he piloted that old baby (converted tram/bus), despite hills and tight corners like a true professional. Fun and interesting, worth every penny!

Had a great tour this morning with Nigel. Flexible, knowledgeable. Nigel provided informative commentary and was happy to answer our questions. Shared the tour with four others so had plenty of seats to get good views and camera shots. Excellent value for money.

This is a fun and easy way to get an overview of Hobart. We stopped several times, the last one being at the Botanical Gardens, which would be cumbersome to reach without a car. Our driver/guide Phil was well informed and full of amusing tidbits. We also visited a former woman’s prison, plus a couple of scenic spots to take photos. It was a chilly day, so having the closed vehicle was appreciated.

Very informative, beautifully paced & a very accomodating driver/guide. Loved the botanical gardens that we would have skipped.

Excellent introduction to Hobart. Thanks especially to Heather, great information and very friendly and easy to talk to. Beautiful blue sky and sunshine helped too.

Wonderful way to get acclimatised to Hobart. Our guide was amazing! (I am sorry I don’t remember his name) it was a wonderful and enlightening 3 hrs! Good way to start your Hobart vacation! Our guide also gave us excellent restuarant suggestions!

Throughout this fascinating Hobart Morning City Tour, your driver/guide will present live commentary on the history of the Tasmanian capital and the many landmarks you’ll see along the way.

The tour begins with a drive past Sullivans Cove (Hobart’s birthplace), Parliament House, and the Georgian-era warehouses of Salamanca Place, and through the charming and historic inner city suburb of Battery Point — home to some of the city’s loveliest architecture.

From there, the tour continues on to the suburb of South Hobart and one of Hobart’s best loved landmarks — the historic Cascade Brewery. There’s time for a stop at the Cascade Gardens and an optional walk to view the 19th century exterior of the brewhouse. You’ll also see the remains of the Female Factory — a former female convict prison, which dates back to the 1850s.

Travelling back through the CBD and over the soaring Tasman Bridge, you’ll stop at Rosny Hill lookout to enjoy a stunning view of Hobart, Sandy Bay and Kunanyi/Mount Wellington. Some free time is provided at the magnificent Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens — a 14-hectare cool climate horticultural wonderland. Must-see features include the lily pond, fernery, and regal Anniversary Arch.

This Hobart Morning City Tour ends back in the CBD at around 12.45pm, leaving your afternoon free for shopping or more sightseeing.
